ART usually is able to mimic the human form, less so be placed on to it.
This is the case for the body paint workshop run by Priscilla Waddell as a part of the upcoming Busselton Fringe Festival.
Waddell is recruiting artistic members of the community to step forward and become involved in creating an amazing image on the body of a fellow human being.
Waddell has been involved in the body paint industry for more than 20 years, putting on a variety of workshops over the span of her career with amazing responses.
“It’s not a nudity thing; it’s about walking art,” Waddell said.
Waddell invites people to become models and participate, not necessarily having to remove all their clothing, but rather offering artists the ability to utilise an area of their body.
Whether it is their arms, back, legs, anything they are willing to offer as a canvas is appreciated according to Waddell.
Participation for artists is $20, to contribute towards the paint kit assembled by Waddell and to pamper the human canvases while they wait for their creation to be formed.
“Hopefully everyone gets into the spirit of the carnival,” Waddell said.
Held on March 14 at 9am outside the Acting Up! Drama Studio on Queen Street in the courtyard, body painting will take place until just before 12.30pm when a parade of their final product will begin.
