A dramatic car chase on Thursday night, involving a police helicopter and the dog squad, had its aftermath on Friday when two men and a youth were charged with a variety of offences.
Just after 8.20pm on Thursday a red Holden Commodore, allegedly stolen earlier in the week from an Attadale residence, was seen on Wanneroo Road, Wanneroo.
Two of the offenders were also allegedly involved in blowing up ATMs at Hamilton Hill and Booragoon on Thursday morning.
Police attempted to stop the Commodore, but the driver dodged police who called in more resources including the police helicopter.
The car was tracked to The Vines where it drove over a stinger. The driver and two passengers fled the vehicle into nearby bushland.
Police dog, Nas, found the offenders hiding in thick grass. One moved, believed to be reaching for a weapon, and the dog bit him on the leg. He was taken for medical treatment for a small puncture wound.
Two men, one aged 42 years, and the other 39 years, have been charged with a variety of offences. A 14-year-old Palmyra boy has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle.
