Police have brought more than 300 charges against a Bridgetown man accused of a string of burglaries and thefts during 2012 and 2013.
Police say that over the two-year period the man entered rural commercial and residential properties and stole power tools and hand tools as well as copper, aluminium and brass scrap metal.
Most of the offences took place in the Bridgetown, Boyup Brook and Donnybrook shires.
The 53-year-old is also accused of conducting 165 fraudulent transactions at a scrap metal dealer's business in Bunbury, where it's alleged he traded as a business he had no authority to represent.
The combined total of the transactions amounted to more than 76,000kg of scrap metal valued at $52,000.
In a statement, Bridgetown police said the scale of the investigation had been immense and, at times, involved all available staff at the station.
"The community of Bridgetown was encouraged by our initial charges and as a result the outpouring of information and evidence has been immense, giving us further lines of inquiry," the statement said.
The man is due to appear in the Bridgetown Magistrates Court on April 23.
