ROUND one of the South West Football League began under lights with the Busselton Magpies hosting the Augusta Margaret River Hawks.
It was a slow start for the home side, only posting one goal and three behinds to the Hawks' two goals one.
The Magpies fought back in the second quarter to post four goals three and led in the main break by 10 points.
The lead changed again in the third quarter with Hawks kicking an extra four to the Magpies two.
There was only three points the difference going into the last term and Magpies made sure they got the win.
The Hawks could only kick one major in the fourth quarter compared to Busselton's five.
The final score was 12.14-86 to 9.9-63.
It was a different story for the reserves with the Magpies demolishing the Hawks by 185 points.
The Hawks could only manage one goal for the game and it didn't happen until the last quarter.
However, the home side managed to post an impressive 29 goals and 19 behinds.
The final score was 29.19-193 to 1.2.8.
The Hawks were able to take home something positive with the colts winning a high scoring game by eight points.
The first half was tight with only one goal separating the teams.
However the Magpies charged ahead in the third quarter kicking seven goals to the Hawks one.
The last quarter was unpredictable with the Hawks piling on eight goals to the Magpies one.
The final score was 15.12-102 to 17.8-110.
