German discount retailer Aldi has added another Perth location to its expanding cache of Australian stores.
Captain Stirling Shopping Centre on Stirling Highway in Nedlands has been bought by the company and is to be the next WA location in Aldi's plans to open more than 70 stores around the state.
"The acquisition of the Nedlands site is an exciting step forward, " Aldi's state managing director Viktor Jakupec said.

As part of a $450 million investment, the first 20 WA stores, which will employ about 400 staff, are earmarked to start operating between June and December next year.
Each WA store stores will support 15-20 employees, providing rewarding career opportunities for local residents.
Aldi, which has been operating in the eastern states for more than 10 years, couldn't confirm yet where the first discount supermarket would open its doors in WA.
"As part of our expansion, Aldi has committed to developing stores in Cannington, Southern River, Halls Head, Kwinana, Rockingham, Australind, South Lake, Joondalup, Camillo, Midland, Mundaring, Ellenbrook
and Mandurah," she said.
Expressions of interest for the Captain Stirling Shopping Centre were invited earlier this year and, according to Realcommercial.com.au, the 1613 square-metre centre sits on a 4663 square-metre site and is currentlly occupied by an IGA supermarket and 11 speciality stores.
