An estimated crowd of 80,000 West Australians attended the Anzac Day dawn service at Perth's Kings Park to mark the 100th anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli.
They stood to attention during the last post and were hushed during a minute's silence as they reflected on the terrible price Australia has paid during conflict.
The crowd of 80,000 is double the size of the crowd who attended the 2014 dawn service.
Bagpipes played while wreaths were laid at the memorial by WA Premier Colin Barnett, Governor Kerry Sanderson and RSL state president Graham Edwards.
