GEOGRAPHE Bay ladies team are luckily enough to have a full complement of players this season, unlike the Busselton squad who had to call upon past players to enable them to field a team on Sunday due injuries or illness.
Having said that the Busselton team would have been proud of their efforts on the day, and as is usually the case when you are short on players, you tend to play your best game.
As it turned out Busselton were fortunate to get the first goal with just 10 minutes into the game catching the Geo Bay defense off guard.
Geographe Bay re-grouped after that and there was some determined play and many chances to peg a goal back before half time but to no avail.
The majority of possession in the second half was with the Seasiders, with youngsters Brooke Fields and Samantha Bailee standing out and are players to watch as they continue to outclass their opponents with their skills on the ball.
Tegan Hollett continues to work well in her new role a midfielder/striker finally scoring for Geographe to level the score.
Geographe Bay definately had chances to win the game with many exciting shots on goal only to have them either hit the cross bar, just skim past the goal or into safe hands of Busselton's keeper Stacey Rouse who saved her team many a time.
Coach Maurice Krakowczyk said he was very proud of his team for the great fight what.
He praised the Busselton keeper Stacey House for her excellent performance to save Busselton two points as well.
As with all derby’s it was a great fought game and one with both sides walking away pleased with the result.
Christian and Co Electrical Contractor's player of the day went to Lauren Valli who continues to shine on the wing by outpacing her opponents to the ball and creating chances for the forwards.
Due to Mother's Day next week Geographe Bay will play on Saturday at 3pm at their home ground, Sir Stewart Bovell Park against Capel.
