WITH only 12 months experience, Busselton’s Glenn Tillotson’s talent for lawn bowls shone through at the WA Bowls State Novice Championship.
The bowling natural went undefeated in a series of lawn bowl events in the South West before he was nominated to enter the state championship in Perth.
Mr Tillotson was the only entrant from the South West at the state championship and said he felt a little out of place on the day.
“I didn’t expect to win,” he said.
“You never know though anyone is beatable on the day.
“Even the guys I played in the final were from Morley.
"I had the guys from Morley barracking for me which made me feel good.”
The WA Bowls State Novice Championship was an open tournament where the winner from the round robin stages went into a knockout round before going through to the finals.
“I have always done pretty well at any ball sport including tennis and golf I played for 38 years,” he said.
“I was stoked to win.”
