IT"S early days into the soccer season but already the Geographe Bay soccer ladies are starting to blossom as a team.
The Seasiders were in great form Saturday afternoon against their neighbours Capel.
The team does however need to break their current trend of allowing the opposition to score first.
With Captain Jess Avery cooling herself off in some exotic pool, veteran Rose Williamson took the toss.
Wanting to keep with tradition the toss was lost, however they did have kick off and the wind was behind them. Unfortunately this didn't help as the Capel ladies made some quick passes breaking through Geographe's midfield and defence.
First shot at goal and wham..in the back of the net. There was nothing that keeper Yvette Pradera could have done as it sailed high over her head.
Someone turned the switch on and the Seasiders began to turn the game around.
The Hollett sisters worked well together creating quite a bit of havock at the front of the pack.
It was older sister Tegan who got the first break calmly beating Capel's defence and kicking the ball into the corner of the net.
It was not long after that Ashlee smashed the ball into the goal mouth to get goal number two before half time.
There were some heavy clashes, knocks and bumps and several times the game had to be stopped.
Geographe Bay were finally awarded a penalty however they were unable to covert.
The Seasiders should have scored half a dozen more goals in the second half but the ball kept hitting the post, unfortunately in this game there are no points awarded for this.
However with just 10 minutes to go Brooke Fields created some magic and scored the final goal of the day sealing a victory for the Seasiders.
Coach Maurice Krakowczyk praised his players for the excellent performance and awarded Christian and Co Electrical Contractors best player to Tegan Hollett.
When it's a great team effort it's hard not to want to mention every player as all did well, however I must mention newcomer Emma Watene whom is growing in confidence each week and was so close to scoring her first goal for the Seasiders.
