There was no respite from the wind and the rain as Busselton Magpies hosted South Bunbury in the South West Football League.
The league side went in as favourites but were unsuccessful with a three point loss.
It started well for the Magpies, kicking two goals four to South’s one.
But it ended there with the opposition kicking four goals to Busselton’s two behinds in the second quarter.
The home side, maybe with the help from Mother Nature, did keep South Bunbury scoreless in third term to make it a tight contest.
No goals were kicked by either side in the last quarter making it a battle of the behinds.
The Magpies only kicked one behind to South Bunbury’s two.
The final score was 3.10.28 to 4.7.31.
Busselton’s reserves team were able to celebrate with a dominant win against South Bunbury.
The first half was tight with only one point separating the teams.
However, the home side were able to kick away in the second half with ten goals to South Bunbury’s four.
The final score was 13.7.85 to 7.3.45.
Busselton’s colts side also had a big win in round five.
It was a slow start for the home side, trailing at quarter time by two goals.
This didn’t last long with Busselton kicking five goals in the second and leading by nine points at half time.
While the goals slowed in the second half, South Bunbury were missing their chances with eight behinds for the half.
The final score was 11.12.78 to 7.17.59
