A Heathridge man was attacked while asleep by a man he invited home after a night out.
The 24-year-old and his roommate were drinking with friends at a tavern in Hillarys on Thursday April 30.
When they left to go home they invited a man they had met at the tavern to go with them.
Around 11.30 that night the 24-year-old was asleep on a couch when the visitor attacked him demanding money.
The victim called out to his roommate for help and the offender ran from the home taking with him various items he had stolen.
Police say the offender is around 175-180cm tall with a large build and tanned skin. He speaks with a New Zealand accent and was wearing an All Blacks polo shirt and black cap.
