The Channel Seven reporter at the centre of allegations over the leaking of confidential information about the arrest of Ben Cousins has posted on social media that her policeman boyfriend will keep his job.
First class constable Daniel Jamieson, 29, was stood down immediately on April 23, amid an investigation by the Internal Affairs Unit. He was charged with four counts of disclosing official secrets.
But as Fairfax Media revealed on Tuesday morning, the policeman would return to duty immediately.
"Love this guy. And good news kids, he's keeping his job :D," Channel Seven reporter Monique Dirksz wrote on Facebook.
WA Police later confirmed Constable Jamieson had returned to work.
"The officer was returned to normal duty on Monday and loss of confidence proceedings will not be pursued," a spokeswoman said.
"An investigation is still being progressed into the conduct of the officer and that matter will be finalised in due course by the assistant commissioner for professional standards."
It had been alleged Constable Jamieson tipped off Ms Dirksz, which led her to be outside Fremantle Police Station at 2am - the exact time Cousins was released on bail from the station.
His exit was captured on camera, with Channel Seven running "exclusive" vision and Ms Dirksz participating in multiple radio interviews the next day.
Acting Police Commissioner Steve Brown said at the time that Ms Dirksz's appearance outside Fremantle Police Station in the early hours of the morning had sparked police suspicion.
