Quantum fiction is the new SF trend. Richard Beard's Acts of the Assassins (Harvill Secker, $35) is the second book in a trilogy that has its origins in the death of Jesus Christ. Cassius Marcellus Gallio from the Complex Casework Unit is disgraced when he can't find the body of Christ. This then becomes a cold case until the disciples start being killed one by one and the case is reactivated.
