THE Busselton Choral Society warmed up their vocal chords at the Ellenvale aged care facility ahead of their concert with the Bunbury Men of Song.
Seniors were treated to a melody of hits from 60s surfer tunes, the 70s, Les Miserables and show tune classics.
Choir member Janet Depiazzi said it was a pleasure to come and sing at places like Ellenvale.
“We are singing under performance conditions,” she said.
“It picks a few holes in things and makes us realise where we need to practice a bit more.”
The musical conductor Marnie Fulton said it was wonderful to have a choir where everyone was so committed to the music.
“It’s really been my dream job to take on a community choir,” she said.
The Busselton Choral Society perform two major concerts each year, charity events and will also be playing with the Busselton Brass Band for the Royal Flying Doctor’s Service in September.
Next week’s concert with the Bunbury Men of Song will start at 2pm on Sunday June 28 at the Uniting Church on Kent Street in Busselton and will feature pianist Katherine Scott.
“We welcome new members especially men so if there any bases or tenors out there who would like to join a choir contact the president Ellen Gude on 9754 7567,” said Ms Depiazzi.
