EIGHT year old Rocco Watson has taken up a big challenge to ride his BMX bike from Dunsborough to Busselton in a bid to raise money for the hospice.
Rocco had been visiting his grandfather in the hospice and read a book about fundraising at school.
Without any prompting he told his parents he would like to raise money for a cause then decided he would ride his bike from Dunsborough to the Busselton Hospice.
Rocco said he wanted to raise money for the hospice because the people there were really sick.
So far he has raised over $500 and hopes to push that figure up to $700.
Rocco’s dad Aaron Watson said they were given a second challenge to dress up as superheros for the ride.
Rocco said he will dress up as his favourite superhero Batman and his dad who will ride with him will dress as Robin.
“If dad wears a Docker’s beanie we’ll get $50 more,” he said.
Rocco was already practicing for the big event on Sunday June 28 and rode his bike from Dunsborough to Vasse to see how far the ride actually was.
