GEOGRAPHE Bay ladies soccer team may have lost by a goal on Sunday but they walked away proud of their efforts after playing one of their best games against Premier Reserve leaders Hay Park.
With only the bare 11 players available coach Maurice Krakowczyk decided to take a more tactical approach to the game which proved to be a wise decision.
Everyone was committed to playing their part on the pitch with Dana Avery playing a pivotal role in defence, however a breakthrough did come Hay Park's way in the 35th minute giving them a one goal lead into half time.
Despite the Seasiders playing awesome in the second half, a penalty kick was awarded to Hay Park which was easily converted.
Coach Krakowczyk made some further changes to the team which started to change the game around, forcing Hay Park to defend.
Brooke Fields did well pushing the ball forward as did Lauren Valli with her fast pace.
A great distance shot from Dana Avery unfortunately hit the crossbar in the 70th minute.
With just 15 minutes to go the game was halted due to a mini tornado hitting the pitch.
Five minutes later the weather turned for the better and the game was back on with a higher intensity game coming from both sides.
With just minutes left on the clock a great pass was made by Samantha Bailee to Ashlee Hollett who headed the ball beautiful into the back of the net.
It was an exciting game but unfortunately time ran out for Geographe and the final score was 2-1 to Hay Park.
Coach Krakowczyk praised his whole team for the amazing effort and awarded Emma Watene with the Christian and Co Player of the Day.
The next game from the Seasiders is Sunday June 28 at 11am at the Sir Stewart Bovell Park Sporting Complex against Manjimup.
