TEN year old Reuben Ginbey has been a standout player, during the 2015 football season, for his team.
Reuben, who plays for the Dunsborough White team in the Year 5-6 competition, is this week's Busselton-Dunsborough Mail Junior Player of the Week.
He is a strong midfielder who uses both sides of his body, during a game, to kick the ball with precision to a team mate.
The Dunsborough Primary School Year 5 student has learnt a lot this year from coach Dan Rolfe and is skilled at winning the contested ball around the packs and sending it forward with good foot skills, just like his role model, Freo's Nat Fyfe.
He is also pretty good at taking pack marks and enjoys kicking a goal occasionally.
When he's not starring for the Dunsborough Sharks, Reuben can be found at the skate park, chasing waves or practising on his drums.
Congratulations, Reuben, on being the Junior Player of the Week.
Round Eleven saw some great games of football in the Year 7-8 and 9-10 competitions, with Wanderers and Rovers playing out a drawn game in the Year 9-10 comp.
In one of the most entertaining games of 2015, the bottom-placed Rovers stunned one of the top teams in the competition with a fierce approach to the ball from the first bounce.
Coach Greg Timms had the team humming along, as all of their players contributed in a most impressive display of committed team football.
Midfielder Connor Timms was outstanding, with a best-on-ground performance, and collaborated with fellow midfielder Blake Williamson to dominate the game and give their opponents a lot to think about.
Finn Moore controlled the ruck contests and Levi Ribeiro, Caleb Foster and Jake Coverley made life very uncomfortable for their Wanderers opponents. Half-back Griffin Jancey played another outstanding game and has had a consistently good year.
For the opposition, there wasn't a lot to like about the Wanderers performance.
But take nothing away from the level played by the Rovers, as you only play as well as your opponent lets you. Wanderers have played some great footy throughout 2015, but this wasn't one of their better ones.
In a disjointed team display, Levi Kihi flashed in and out of the play, centre half forward Ethan Piggott kicked some long goals and Josh Davis tried hard, though not to his usual standard.
In the Year 7-8 game, a slick Wanderers team was too good, running out winners over Rovers by sixty points. Captain Khye Baker put in a great four-quarter effort and combined with Marshel Renson and Hamish Hutton to control the middle of the ground.
Youngsters Patrick Weldon and Jack Williams kept the scoreboard ticking, with seven goals between them.
For the gallant Rovers, who never stopped trying, Jayden Mewitt and Nathan Bell continued their good seasons, while backmen Cody Woods and Alex Warner had their work cut out for them and battled manfully for the whole game.
