THE Black Dog Ride cross country bikers left Busselton for Ayers Rock on Saturday morning to raise awareness about depression and suicide prevention.
The off road journey is expected to take the riders six days to reach the red centre and the group were given a huge send off at Fennessy's.
A barbecue was provided by the Busselton Lions Club and the team from Yahava Coffee were there to kick start the ride.
Black Dog Ride founder Steve Andrews said a second group would leave on Sunday and meet the cross country riders at Ayers Rock on Friday.
Fennessy's principal dealer Ray Mountrey lent the Black Dog Ride a support vehicle for their journey.
Black Dog Ride was established in 2009 as a way to raise awareness about depression and suicide prevention in communities across Australia.
Founder Steve Andrews has organised over 70 rides across Australia since he founded the charity.
