A MANDURAH woman who said she found a dirty needle in a jacket she bought from an op shop has issued a warning to customers to beware of second-hand goods.
The local mother, who did not wish to be named, bought the Adidas jacket on Monday from a newly renovated store on Pinjarra Road.
She said she spent about $80 in the shop and left the bag of clothing on her couch before making the discovery on Tuesday morning.
“My baby was crawling right near it,” she said.
“It’s not fair – it could have been diseased.”
The woman said along with the used needle she also found a bag containing traces of what appeared to be meth.
She returned the jacket and received a refund, but plans to complain to head office.
“I was told every item was hand-checked,” the woman said.
“But there it was.
“It’s disgusting.”
The op shop’s head office has been contacted for comment.
