THE Busselton Swimming Club is celebrating after their junior short course team took home a silver medal at the junior state championships.
The club had four swimmers qualify for the meet which is reserved for the very best swimmers aged 12 and younger.
Eden McDonald, Rylee Wiliamson, Neve McDonald and Amy Kerr made the trip to HBF stadium in Perth for the two-day event.
The McDonald sisters fought off recent illness to put in a brave performance.
Eden swam well in her favoured backstroke event while youngster Neve placed in the state's top 15 for each of her four events including the 100 metre individual medley.
Rylee made her state championship debut and did not disappoint, finishing ninth in the 50 metre breaststroke event and setting personal best times in two of her four events.
Amy, 10 had the club's busiest program at the event, competing in nine events.
She achieved an incredible seven personal bests and made the final eight of four events.
It was in the 100 metre breaststroke where she shone the brightest, finishing second.
The club said the improvement of the young swimmers has been incredible and they are looking forward to sending a larger number of competitors to next year's event.
