A TEAM of Baptistcare William Carey Court residents have shown you are never too old to enjoy being active.
With a combined age of 560 years, the team of seven made the trek from Busselton to Margaret River to compete in the LiveLighter Aged Care Games last week.
The Baptistcare William Carey Court Magpies were crowned champion of champions for an impressive third consecutive year.
Four teams competed in a variety of games included seated hockey, seated pass ball, bean bag toss and skittles.
Busselton resident Kim McKeown, 93 was the oldest participant in the competition with Baptistcare fielding two teams against groups from Augusta and Margaret River.
Resident Anne Graney said it was a delight to take part in the games and have some fun.
“The organisers and volunteers go to so much effort to make these games happen,” she said.
“Seeing everyone participating and the impromptu singing made for a very enjoyable day.”
The annual LiveLighter Aged Care Games is hosted by the Seniors Recreation Council of WA South West branch.
The event encourages seniors across WA to stay active through regular exercise and offers seniors in aged care and those living independently the opportunity to engage in fun social interaction.
