WA disability advocates warned the federal government that people with disabilities, their families and carers need to be part of the decision making in the WA National Disability Insurance Scheme.
A report shared the experience of more than 200 people with disabilities, their families and carers from trial sites in WA.
WA is the only state trialling two different models of NDIS with the state government scheme, WA My Way NDIS, operating in the South West.
The federal government's NDIS scheme operates in the Perth Hills.
The report found more needs to be done to protect the rights of people with disabilities in WA.
People with disabilities WA executive director Samantha Jenkinson said people with disabilities and their families and carers did not feel they were being heard in the process.
Ms Jenkins said problems across WA NDIS related to a lack of flexibility, independent information and people feeling rushed through the planning process.
“We also heard people say they wanted more options in services and in ways of implementing their plans. They also wanted greater transparency,” she said.
