THE inaugural Seven Rooms Seven Stories Festival of writing and drawing will be held on March 18 in Busselton thanks to a collaboration between Dymocks and St Mary MacKillop College.
West Australian authors and illustrators who inspire us have been invited to share their stories, inspirations and talents with the young people of the South West.
With writing workshops, book readings, craftology, a mini book store, scrumptious cafe, entertainment and illustrator studios there is something for everyone.
The list of visiting authors includes A J Betts, Julia Lawrinson, Deb Fitzpatrick, Dianne Wolfer, Sally Murphy, Mark Greenwood, Frane Lessac, Norman Jorgensen and Graham Houghton.
Concurrent sessions will happen throughout the day for students to attend at $5 per student per session.
The general public can attend sessions with all children to be accompanied by an adult.
Sessions will vary according to the authors but a focus will be their books and how they came into being.
For students with a love of literature, there is nothing more exciting than meeting and talking with authors they have read.
The books will be on sale and students will be able to get them signed.
