A Woolworths spokesperson confirmed both Busselton stores on Kent Street and Duchess Street will remain open.
WOOLWORTHS confirmed the company has no intentions of closing its Duchess Street store in Busselton.
Although a second and newer store is located 300 metres away on Kent Street, a Woolworths’ spokesperson confirmed the company has no plans to close the older store.
“Both it and our new store at Kent Street will continue to serve our customers in Busselton,” the spokesperson said.
Speculation Aldi may take over the premises on Duchesss Street came after the City of Busselton council rejected a bid to build an Aldi store at the West Street site.
Developers of the West Street shopping centre have indicated they will appeal the council's decision with the State Administrative Tribunal.
