NOMINATIONS are now open for the 2016 Australia Post One Netball Community Awards.
The awards celebrate individuals, clubs and associations and communities in Southern WA who go above and beyond to ensure everyone, regardless of background, skill or ability, is welcome in netball.
Australian Diamonds player and Australia Post One Netball ambassador Clare McMeniman, said the awards were a great way to share the stories of those who use the power of the game to create a safe, inclusive and fun environment for all.
“Since the Awards’ inception in 2014, we’ve uncovered many inspiring stories of inclusion champions who go out of their way to build more welcoming netball communities,” she said.
“We’re on the lookout for passionate inclusion advocates both on and off the court – from coaches and umpires to players, parents and volunteers - who work tirelessly to connect people in their local neighbourhoods to our great game.
“So if you know an individual, club or association in Southern WA who has worked hard to drive or nurture an open and inclusive environment through netball, we encourage you to go online and nominate them now.”
Nominations are open until July 31, with the winner announced on August 29.
