PLANNING is underway to bring back the Tribal Mix and Big Mix festivals in January next year under a brand new banner.
The Undalup Association Inc is looking for volunteers to help plan the Undalup Birak Beach Festival which will be held over the weekend of January 14 and 15.
Tribal Mix and Big Mix formed part of the Festival of Busselton for many years and was split into two days of community celebration which promoted Nyungar culture and showcased the talents and culture of youth in the area.
Undalup vice chairperson Rachelle Cousins said members had already started working on ideas and the excitement of planning the event was keeping the group busy.
“Undalup will have some awesome entertainment on both days for the whole family,” she said.
Ms Cousins said the youth and community subcommittees would cover a lot of the event planning and they were still in the process of forming partnerships with other groups in the community.
Undalup formed a partnership with Act, Belong, Commit and the group work on community projects with people who want to make change in the community.
They also work on other types of projects which involve the sustainable management of natural resources.
Undalup president Izaac Webb said it was great to see people who want to be part of projects which benefit the community.
Mr Webb said having great people on the subcommittees who were willing to share their skills and expertise created many opportunities for everyone involved.
People who would like to be involved in Undalup are invited to attend the next meeting from 5pm on Tuesday, May 31 at the Esplande Hotel in Busselton.
