PERTH alternative rock band Jebediah will play at the Dunsborough Tavern from 8.30pm on Sunday, June 5.
The band, which celebrated their 21st birthday this year, will also perform at the State Of The Art Festival at Elizabeth Quay on Monday.
Jebediah were notorious in the late 90s for their cheeky brand of alternative rock and summer loving anthems only a West Aussie would understand, including Leaving Home, Harpoon and Teflon.
Guitarist Chris Daymond said it was a nice surprise to see the band reach 21, and that fans would know exactly what to expect of their show on Sunday.
“What we will give them is the full Jebediah buffet,” he said.
“All you can eat basically, we will just keep smashing them out until people go home.”
Daymond said that although the band is divided (by location – Kevin and Brett Mitchell now live in Melbourne), the members have never gone more than half a year without getting back together for a performance.
“Even though we have had other commitments, Jebediah has always been on the slow boil in the background,” he said.
“We have not necessarily been a band that has been at it for the whole time.
“We certainly have taken our time and enjoyed the ride.”
Daymond said Jebediah’s supporting act, The Tommyhawks, have kicked heaps of goals across the nation.
“It is one of Vanessa’s other projects,” he said.
“They have an appeal that I have not seen in a band in a while, and having an all female lineup is certainly a card up their sleeve.
“It is quite a rarity to have an all female act in the rock genre (in a broad sense), so it was a really easy decision to invite them along.”
Tickets are $29 and can be purchased from moshtix.com or jebediah.net.
