BUSSELTON resident Blake Andrew Manning is one of five Australian children to win a nationwide competition to go to the Rio Olympic Games.
The McDonald's Olympics Kids Program competition will see 100 children from around the world go to the Olympics to perform at the opening ceremony.
Blake created a video about friendship and sport to help him win the once in a lifetime trip, which will see him and his mum travel to Rio for a week later in the year.
“We thought we had no chance at winning and then we won,” he said.
“First when I got home, there was this big sign on the table that said ‘Congratulations Blake, you won a trip to Rio’ with all lollies on it.”
Blake’s mum Danni said she was very proud of Blake’s achievement.
