PATISSIER extraordinaire Adriano Zumbo, Masterchef’s Gary Mehigan and Spanish expat Miguel Maestre, who will be in Perth from July 8-10 for this year’s Good Food and Wine Show, named Margaret River as their favourite wine region in WA.
Adriano said his ideal WA escape would be spending a few weeks in Margaret River, “eating, beaching, drinking and doing nothing.”
He revealed his favourite food discoveries in WA to be the Bunbury Farmers Market and 34 ̊ South Olive Oil.
“It’s a bit of a trek, but great oil,” he said.
Gary said Margaret River was just such a beautiful place to visit, and that he could not wait to come back.
Miguel said: “If I can’t have Freixenet Spanish Cava, I would have to say that my favourite wine region in Perth is Margaret River.
My Kitchen Rules 2011 winners Sammy and Bella, who will also be at the event, said they loved Busselton.
“Not only is it a spectacular beach, but also it’s one of those super sleepy places with not much to do – in a good way,” they said.
“It’s the perfect place to unwind and relax, without any hussel and bussel (pun intended ha ha).”
