PEOPLE in Busselton, Margaret River and surrounding areas should prepare for possible minor flooding expected Friday and Saturday.
The Bureau of Meteorology advised a Flood Watch for the lower South West region at 10.50am today.
A cold front near the southwest corner of the state will linger over the South West district throughout Friday with heavy rainfall expected.
River level rises caused by last night’s rainfall have recorded in catchments in the South West district.
For the 24 hours to 9am Saturday rainfall totals of 20-50mm with isolated falls up to 80mm are forecast.
Recorded and forecast rainfall may cause further river rises and areas of flooding over the weekend.
Significant stream rises with areas of flooding are expected to develop in the Busselton Coastal rivers, lower Blackwood River, Donnelly River, Warren River and Shannon River catchments in the Lower South West today and tommorrow.
