POLICE are looking for the culprits who ripped up Dunsborough Playing Field’s AFL oval with a vehicle last Friday night.
Residents arrived at the oval on Saturday morning to discover the damage, which was likely caused by one vehicle driving on and cutting up the playing turf.
The City’s Turf Maintenance Team have since undertaken repairs but the oval remains quite damaged.
“We have invested significantly in these ovals and they are really well utilised,” Mayor Grant Henley said.
“Why anyone would be stupid enough and selfish enough to do this, is beyond belief.
“This is an incredibly immature act of vandalism and I urge anyone with information about it to come forward to the police.”
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anything on Friday night and have asked they contact Crimestoppers on 131 444.
