THE Busselton Netball Association received $3000 worth of netballs for its senior players from the Insurance Commission of WA with the ‘Belt Up’ message.
Belt Up is a road safety awareness campaign promoting the importance of wearing seat belts to reduce the severity of injury in a crash.
The campaign is important in regional WA because country motorists were over represented in road fatality and injury statistics where they were not wearing a seat belt.
Over the last five years in WA 50 per cent of road deaths and serious injuries were regional residents and 25 per cent of people killed were not wearing seat belts.
