A HEALTH and wellness expo is coming to Busselton on October 30 which will feature 40 South West health practitioners.
The South West Holistic Practitioner Network have created the free community event to give people an opportunity to meet with them.
The practitioners will line Queen Street and people will be able to go along and talk and find out information about the services they provide.
Busselton doctor Sarah Moore said they want the festival to be an event where everyone in the community felt welcome to attend.
“We really encourage people to come along who feel like the festival might be outside of their comfort zone,” she said.
“It is not limited to people who might practice yoga or meditate it is really for anyone who has an inkling or wondering how they can improve their own well being.
“We see community as such a positive health benefit on its own, even if you smoke and drink alcohol, if you are part of a community that you belong to and feel part of, that is a protective health benefit.”
Event organiser and psychologist Jo Edmond said there would be a strong focus on children and families with lots of activities to keep everyone entertained.
“Everybody is somewhere on a wellness journey, it does not matter where anybody sits they can all come along and connect, there will be health benefits for everybody,” she said.
At the expo a range of practitioners will be there including general practitioners, psychologists, osteopaths, naturopaths, chiropractors, energy healers, yoga instructors, mindfulness coaches, psychiatrists, pediatricians and kinesiologists.
Throughout the day people will be able to join in free workshops including yoga, mindfulness, art, dance and tai chi.
There will also be an expert panel discussions where people can ask questions based around gut health, mind body medicine, social connectedness and health.
Pro surfer Taj Burrows will be there to announce the winners of the children’s colouring competition, and there will be face painting, bouncy castles, food vans and live music.
