DUNSBOROUGH skateboarders will have an easy way to escape from the sun this summer, after the City of Busselton installed a number of shelters around the Dunsborough Skate Park.
City of Busselton Youth Development officer Angela Griffin said the Youth Development team consulted with some of the local skaters earlier in the year about what maintenance was needed at the park.
“The locals told us about the lack of shade at the skate park and the skate surfaces that needed re-sealing, so the Youth Development team advise the parks and gardens team of the requests,” she said. “We hope the local shredders will enjoy.”
The new shelters have come just in time for this year’s series of school holiday skate lessons, which kick off on September 26.
Grass Root Learn to Skate skate lessons will be held at the skate park from 10am and 11am on September 26 and October 3, for ages five to eight, and eight and up.
