A-GRADE volleyball team Black Mamba booked a berth in the grand final after a hard fought win over close rivals Flaming Flamingos last week at the Geographe Leisure Centre.
The Mamba won the first set easily 25-12 and looked like they would cruise through the next one but Kody Hoosen and his team had other ideas.
After changing their combination they fought back to take the second set 22-25. The third and deciding set saw the standard of play step up a notch. Dillon Mickan was the standout player, energetic in the back court and powerful at the net as the Mambas came back to win 25-20.
The scene was set for an exciting A-reserve grand final after the Flamingos face a revitalised Flying Potatoes in the preliminary final.
A-reserve team V Force will be aiming for their first grand final victory after comfortably defeating rivals League of Legends in their semi-final, 25-16, 25-22. Warren Huizenga was on fire for the Force, with good support from Zac Bergsma. Sarah Rhodes continued her good form for the Legends.
The Cape Naturaliste College girls are hoping to emulate their High School Country week victory when they take on the winner of Supersonics and Rookies.
