THE Hospice Spring Soiree fundraising event held at Palmer Winery on September 30 was a huge success with over 100 people in attendance.
The evening evolved when Dunsborough resident Gary McSwain donated an Ellendale diamond to raise funds for our local Hospice unit.
Nina’s Dunsborough complemented the diamond by donating a generous gift voucher towards the setting of the stone, which was included in the evening’s main auction along with other generous items.
A local singer/guitarist contributed to a successful, relaxed and fun evening, by entertaining guests with many classics played, which inspired them to take to the dance floor.
The Busselton Hospice Care Inc (Geographe Bay Centre) said a huge thank you to Gary McSwain, Nina’s Dunsborough and all generous contributors of auction items and donations.
A special thanks to Helen and Steve Palmer for their amazing venue and assisting with co-ordinating the event. Sincere thanks to Chef Coby and the wonderful staff at Palmer Wines.
A thank you also to Andrew Wynne, the auctioneer for the evening, who with his style and determination drew the bidders in, resulting in a very successful main auction.
The total figure raised on the night was more than $24,000.
The Hospice said it was heart-warming to continually receive the ongoing support and acknowledgement of the palliative care service they provide.
