BUSSELTON City Football Club young gun Chelsea Braam has ended the 2016 soccer season by claiming the Women’s and Youth Player of the Year awards for the entire South West.
The seventeen year old claimed the Premier Ladies’ Player of the Year and Ladies’ Youth Player of the Year at the South West Soccer Association awards night, which was held in Bunbury at the weekend.
Braam also took out the Busselton City Football Club Women’s Players’ Player and Busselton Youth League Fairest and Best awards earlier in the month.
She said she owed her success to the people around her.
"Because it was my first year playing women’s [soccer], having those older role models around me pushed me on,” she said.
Braam has been playing soccer for about nine or 10 years.
She told the Mail that although a few people had asked her if she wanted to move to Perth to pursue soccer, she planned on staying in Busselton for a while.
