RISING Busselton BMX star Braiden Abrahamse finished third overall in his age group at the 2016 WA BMX State Championships.
The main racing was held on the Saturday, October 8 and riders were met with rain and strong winds as wintry weather came through Perth.
This did not deter the riders and spectators that arrived at the Balcatta track with a total of 33 riders competing for the top eight spots in the 11 Boys age class.
The riders competed in four races and the top 20 proceeded through to quarter-finals, the top riders then proceeded to the semi-finals and the top four then proceeded to the finals.
Braiden started his State Championship campaign with a consistent third and seconds in his first four races placing him seventh overall.
This allowed him to compete in the quarter finals where he finished third and second in the semi-finals.
In the final race Braiden took off from lane one and finished third overall, he would like to thank the people who have helped him pursue his dream to one day live and compete in the USA.
