President Andrew Bland reported that it had been a very successful year with a good turnout of members at contests
The Indian Ocean Longboard Club held it’s final club contest for the year at Yallingup on Saturday.
A small swell and light side shore winds made for contestable conditions.
After contest the club’s annual presentation was held at the Shana Cafe, at Yallingup beach.
Club president Andrew Bland reported that it had been a very successful year with a good turnout of members at contests and an increase in female membership.
Contest winners for the year included:
Open score winner was Bill Gibson ahead of Andrew Bland.
Mick Coleman took out the Gill Warman Memorial Handicap from Linda Guinness.
The women’s category was won by Linda Guinness from Amanda Curley.
Chelsea Bedford took out the junior title after having a great year.
Volte Wetsuits generously sponsored wetsuits for all the winners and placegetters.
The club's flagship event, the Yallingup Malibu classic, will be held at Yallingup on December 3 and 4.
Over 110 competitors will battle it out in Western Australia’s premier longboard event.
