Hockeyroos captain Madonna Blyth and former Paralympic swimmer Priya Cooper have been announced as event ambassadors of this year’s SunSmart Busselton Jetty Swim.
Blyth, who has captained the Hockeyroos since 2009, is known as Australia’s most capped female hockey player and rated as one of the best players of her generation.
“The Busselton Jetty swim is a fantastic event to be involved in,” Blyth said.
“Not only is it a great opportunity to be active outdoors and have a good time, but what better place to do it than the beautiful South West.”
Priya Cooper defeated cerebral palsy to become one of Australia’s leading paralympians.
Cooper is no stranger to setting world records in the early ‘90s and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for her services to sport and became an Australia Day ambassador.
“I am really excited to be an ambassador for the swim as over the years I’ve had many friends participate and they come back year after year,” Cooper said.
“Busselton is such a beautiful location for families and friends to get together and enjoy such a positive event.”
The SunSmart Busselton Jetty Swim will take place at the Jetty on Sunday, February 12.
