St George’s Anglican Church in Dunsborough will hold its mega fete on the Saturday of the March long weekend at the Lions Park in Dunsborough’s town centre.
Celebrating its 32nd year, the fete will feature more than 65 stalls from 8am until 1pm and will be the first time for Reverend Melusi Sibanda since arriving in the parish from England last year.
Father Sibanda said the country fete would delight visitors and locals with home-made cakes, preserves, books, toys and antiques.
“Of course, there will be plenty of food including the traditional Aussie sausage sizzle, that I am particularly looking forward to,” he said.
“What a great way to start off the long weekend festivities in Dunsborough.”
St George’s hopes to raise more than $10,000 from the fete which will go towards its community programs including emergency relief, missions in Australia and overseas, and school chaplaincy.
“This year, we also will have a Japanese flavour with a performance by the Japanese Taiko On Drummers at 10.30am and a visit by the mascot from Busselton’s Sister City Sugito,” Father Sibanda said.
