If you consider yourself a keen golfer or more interested in claiming a stake in a wall of wine be sure to head along to this year’s Gail Kearney Memorial Busselton Hospice Golf Day.

The golf day is the biggest fundraiser for the Busselton Hospice and over its 14 year duration has raised more than $400,000 for the organisation.

The hospice relies on community donations to provide its services in Busselton and has been supported by Harcourts and Cape to Cape Insurance Services since the golf day began.

The event will take place on Friday, April 7 in honour of Mike Kearney’s late wife Gail and will include the auction of a golf cart which was donated by a member of the Busselton Golf Club.

This year all the proceeds from the auction will go to to the Busselton Hospice.

One of the main fundraisers which will take place on the day is a wall of wine, people are able to donate a carton of wine and for a $100 ticket people can claim a carton.

“Everyone who buys a ticket gets a carton of wine but they do not know what they will get,” said Mr Honey.

“It has worked well and if anyone can donate a carton of wine that is $100 that goes straight into the hospice.”

“The more the merrier,” said Mr Paterson.

The day will kick off with a sausage sizzle, followed by a round of golf, drinks on course will be available for purchase, lunch will be provided and a buffet meal after the auction and announcement of winners.
