The body of Nathaniel Beesley remains stuck under a rock three days after he fell to his death at Grange Resources’ Savage River mine.
Fairfax Media understands a delicate recovery operation was underway on Tuesday to retrieve Mr Beesley’s body.
It is believed the recovery has taken this time due to the location of the body and the difficulty in getting machines there.
It is hoped the body will be recovered before Tuesday night.
Mr Beesley was engaging in scaling operations on Friday morning in the mine’s Northern Deposit when he fell.
The 32-year-old Sunshine Coast father of two recently moved with his young family from England to begin a new life in Australia.
On Monday operation at the mine’s Southern Deposit, about 5km away from the incident site, resumed.
