Two years to the day two Perth prospectors vanished in a remote part of the state's Goldfields, police have again appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
Raymond and Jennie Kehlet were last seen on March 21, 2015 by a friend at a prospecting site about 30 kilometres from Sandstone.
The couple's dog was found a week later wandering around the area in an emaciated condition, sparking an extensive land and air search.
Mr Kehlet's body was subsequently discovered on April 8 at the bottom of an abandoned mine shaft about two kilometres from the couple's camp site but the fate of Ms Kehlet remains unknown.
The family of the couple, who were aged 47 and 49 when they were last seen, said the tragedy continued to take a heavy toll on everyone who knew them.
"We have remained in close contact with police but not knowing what occurred amplifies our grief," the family said.
"We encourage anyone with information to come forward and provide us with answers, which may give us some closure."
Ms Kehlet's disappearance was reclassified by police as suspicious on the one year after she went missing.
Mr Kehlet's brother David Kehlet had previously said he believe the pair met with foul play.
"It has been the family and friend's belief from early on that foul play was involved, although the motivations for such a thing to occur to them are inexplicable," he said.
"Ray and Jennie were a hardworking, family-orientated, loving couple with hearts of gold, who travelled to Sandstone primarily to 'get away from it all' and secondly with the simple hopes of striking it rich.
"The subsequent events and lack of closure have been devastating. Although we now have Ray in body and have celebrated his life through a funeral, we still do not have Jennie back, nor are we any closer to finding out what may have happened."
Six months after the couple disappeared, detectives returned to their Sandstone campsite and discovered some "items of interest" although they would not at the time confirm what the potential clues were.
A month later in November 2015, police searched a house in Medina as part of their investigation into the couple's fate.
Police seized a number of items from the Medina property and a 63-year-old man assisted police with their inquiries, but no charges were laid.
