Average wind speeds of around 25 knots and a bit more in the squalls saw sharpie and cherub sailors battling it out for the WA state titles putting them to the test on the second day of racing.
While Saturday saw sailors launch into Geography Bay to compete three heats in good breeze – Sunday - the heat turned up with erratic gusts coming from the west.
Sailors were greeted with an angry-looking sea and big swells seeing some pull out and watching the action from onshore.
Many of those who braved the wild conditions were thrown into the bay resulting in broken boats and bruised egos.
