Sally Fitzgibbons will meet fellow Australian and current world number one Stephanie Gilmore in the semi finals when competition resumes at the 2017 Drug Aware Margaret River Pro.
Fitzgibbons is in good form after defeating former world champion Carissa Moore in her quarter final with a 9.73 score.
She is currently ranked number three in the world.
Twenty-nine year old Steph Gilmore is on top of the rankings but has never won at Margaret River.
A layday has been called today with the finals looking likely to be held in solid swell on the weekend.
According to Surfline's Kevin Wallis a modest SW swell prevails Wednesday as southerly wind builds over the afternoon/evening.
A larger SW to SSW swell builds Thursday, although local wind will likely remain unfavorable. A medium size SSW swell looks more and more likely for the weekend, with more favorable wind as well.
