HARD work and commitment has paid off for Busselton swimmer Amy Kerr who claimed a trifecta of state championship titles at the Hancock Family Medical Foundation Long Course Junior State Championships on the weekend.
Kerr, who represents the Bunbury Swimming Club, won the gold medal, and became state champion in the 50-metre, 100-metre and 200-metre breaststroke events for her age group.
The State Championships attracts the best junior swimmers from across the state and to make a clean sweep in all distances of one stroke is a rare and impressive achievement.
This is the second consecutive year that Amy has claimed the 50-metre breaststroke state title, and she is extremely pleased to have added the 100-metre and 200-metre titles to her name in 2017.
The Family Medical Foundation Long Course Junior State Championships was not Amy’s first success for 2017.
In February she competed in the Collie Open where she broke a meet record.
