'Evil 8' case accused might be heading to eastern states

Alfred John Impicciatore was due to face trial in the WA District Court this week after he allegedly sexually abused a girl aged between 11 and 13 but failed to turn up to court, so an arrest warrant was issued.

Police put out a statement on Thursday afternoon, claiming Mr Impicciatore maybe travelling to the eastern states in a red Nissan Pulsar, WA registration 1ASA 315 with Rachel Galvin.

Ms ???Galvin has been described as being 171cm tall, of a medium build, with dyed red hair, green eyes, and fair skin.

Mr Impicciatore, 46, has as being fair skinned, approximately 177cms tall with a medium build, short brown hair, brown eyes and facial hair.

Impicciatore has previously failed to appear in court when out on bail, pleaded not guilty to sexually penetrating the girl and possessing child exploitation material.

Last month two WA detectives who detained Impicciatore avoided the embarrassment of having the key evidence of a video interview with him thrown out.

Impicciatore had argued his video confession should be inadmissible because it was made beyond the six-hour limit of detention.

However, District Court Justice Vicki Stewart ruled that the legal breach, in which a detective involved in the case rather than an independent officer signed off on extending Impicciatore's arrest, was not serious enough to justify throwing out the evidence.

Impicciatore is a father from Wembley and a builder with his own business.

The other men in the case charged with abusing and drugging the girl, aged 11 to 13 at the time, include her father and five other men.

Eight men were originally named in the notorious case, with the group dubbed the "Evil 8" by media, but one of them was not charged with offences related to the girl, who was abused when she was aged between 11 and 13.
