William Carey Court resident John Cowan was flying high on Monday, May 29.
The 80 year old experienced his life long dream of flying a plane, thanks to William Carey Court staff and the Busselton Aero Club.
The initiative is part of William Carey Court’s “bucket list” for it’s residents.
Occupational therapist Karen Daly came up with the idea and quickly started asking residents what experience they wanted to put on their own list.
Mr Cowan, who celebrated his 80th birthday this May, said he had always wanted to experience what it was like to fly a plane.
As a birthday present, the Busselton Aero Club paid Mr Cowan a visit to take him through a simulation of the flight.
William Carey Court Lifestyle Coordinator Roslyn McDonald organised for Mr Cowan to visit the Aero Club so he could experience being in the air.
The weather was perfect and Mr Cowan had a great time fulfilling his dream of being in the air.
