Aces Stars shine on the netball court

IT was an exciting game on Saturday between the Aces Stars and the GMAS Vikings.

GMAS were without a substitute so it was a battle to see who could hold on to the end.

Only two points separated them in the first quarter; mainly due to Shanee Bayley’s strong shooting. GMAS dropped off a little in the second quarter as a result of some great intercepts from Frankie Hermitage, keeping the ball in the centre third for Aces.

This was then brought down the court and dropped through the net by Maddi Marshall who played a stellar second quarter. Madeline Wardle put up some great shots for GMAS in the third quarter but it was not enough to hold back the Aces who stretched the lead to 12 points by the end of the quarter.

The final quarter saw GMAS take back some control. They out-scored Aces six goals to three in the last quarter as a result of some great defence by Madeleine Gee and Eloise Wallace for GMAS. The girls worked hard at rebounds and managed to get the ball from the Aces’ scoring end to GMAS offence.
